REEM ALKHALIFA is the brains behind GREEN BAR Inc’s all natural and fantastic oils for body, face and hair. She sits with our Dia editor and shares her story on how she got started and what her product line offers.

How did you get into selling holistic cosmetic products and start the company?

I started doing aromatherapy mixtures to cure friends from heartbreak, because I myself have gone through a break up that I now call my renaissance. However my fixation with plants has always been with me. And my approach has evolved from curing through plants to celebrating the plants, and their unbelievable gifts and beautiful fragrances they offer.

Getting into holistic moisturizing was also a natural step for me because I am a yogi, and through cultivating my consciousness I realized that creams, and their synthetic fragrances were not aligned with my way of being.

How are oils different/better than other methods of moisturizing/cleansing?

(Using botanical oils) is a very healing act that prepares and soothes the mind, and nervous system – it makes one slightly focused and relaxed.

Good quality cold pressed oil is one of the best means of preserving health in the ayurvedic tradition, restoring the body and your glow. It facilitates the movement of the joints; and it provides intense hydration for dry skin. Our mixture of plant oils and natural perfume are supportive of skin activity, they prevent stretch marks from appearing on the body, it might help reduce old stretch marks because of the vitamin content in the oil, and its ability for renewing the skin. The natural scents from fruits and flowers are authentic and will leave you calm and centered. These botanicals are all rich and nourishing and help not only dry aging skin, but young skin too. The botanical oils are packaged in glass bottles, because they have live substances, the soul of the plants. They are essential oils from flowers and herbs that need to be stored appropriately.

Will you be expanding the product line at all?

Yes we will be, we will be selling essential oils and beautiful diffusers very soon. It’s the safest way to clear and upgrade the atmosphere for your home or office.
