The only thing you'll still need for your wedding after shopping here, is the groom.

The Wedding Shop in Jeddah, owned and managed by two Saudi women, FUTNA NAZER and JAWANA HEFZI, is definitely the first stop any woman should make as soon as she gets engaged. This is the place that will help her fulfill her wedding dreams or will lend a hand finding her some if she doesn’t have any specific ones.

The shop’s feminine ambiance feels fresh, sweet, romantic and full of inspiration. Prospective brides, and anyone connected to the wedding from the mothers of the happy couple, to maids of honor and bridal shower organizers will find all their needs from organizational literature, decorative items, lighting, wedding and party favors, gifts and games, special lingerie cases and bikinis for the honeymoon. As well as many other vital wedding-to-honeymoon accoutrements; a fab selection of tiaras, “just married” bikinis, flip-flops, bags and t-shirts, an adorable “you may now kiss the chef” apron (useful whether or not she is going to do any cooking), ‘his’ and her’ towels and hangers… and tons more…

The team at the Wedding Shop can also help with the A-Z planning of the big day: finding a theme, running around coordinating with all suppliers in the industry, rental of wedding supplies, providing all the available options in town, and outsourcing items that aren’t in stock. Their mission is to make the entire experience fun and easy, and minimize the headaches and stress that usually accompany the organization of that oh so special day.

Not a bride, don’t despair. The Wedding Shop’s piles of goodies can be used for parties and occasions that have nothing to with weddings.

The Wedding Shop is a place that not only celebrates one’s happy ending but indulges in the whole journey getting there.

As the slogan to Jeddah’s latest bakery announces, Munch is ‘a colourful delicious playground for the kid in all of us.’ So now, we can all admit we like pink and Nutella.

The bakery is a welcome treat, specializing in cupcakes, cheesecakes, and muffins. Although eating on site is not encouraged, effort was put into the decoration, with cute cardboard cupcakes hanging from the ceiling and sweets in every color and shape decorating the shelves. There are also fun slogans written on the blackboard walls.

Opened last month, Munch has come up with a creative menu. Choose between the Chocoholic, Bunny, Cloud 9 or the gargantuan cookie selection. While some of these might remind you of London’s Humming Bird (velvet chocolate anyone?), there’s also a decidely Middle Eastern touch, with the “Date me” cupcake, an oriental take on the sticky date desert. Prices vary, starting from Sr. 4 and up. The Munch Box packaging is also very cute.

Munch Bakery. Al Fawaris Center – Arafat Street (facing Utopia furniture, next to Baskin Robbins). Jeddah. +966 2 6605010. The website is under construction.
